Marina Del Basso
Marina Del Basso is the CEO of the Australian Performing Arts Network Academy. Marina has some 50 years of experience in the Arts and brings strong vision and talent to the entertainment industry.
Marina started her dance career at the age of four. Marina studied in Jazz, Classical Ballet ,Tap, Acrobats, Character, Highland and Irish styles at the Norma Atkinson School of Dance.
Marina completed all examinations including the coveted Martin Rubenstien Award and Blue Sash Award for performance under CSTD syllabus and Advanced Diploma in classical ballet under the R.A.D. Marina also studied at the world renowned Joe Tremaine's studios in Los Angeles working with leading choreographers from Film, TV, cabaret and musicals. In 1985 Marina completed her full teaching diploma under the CSTD syllabus in genres of Tap, Classical Ballet, Acrobatics and Jazz. Marina performed locally nationally and Internationally in corporate, showgirl and musical productions.
For 26 years Marina Directed one of Perth's leading performing arts schools .Producing performers at a national and international level ,many of who are now working within the industry as lead roles and ensemble cast in musicals, cabaret shows and more. Marina has a varied production back ground in television live entertainment, corporate productions, sports and children's entertainment, television mini series, musical theatre productions, television commercials and producing entertainment for Cruise Companies Star Cruises International and AAC Cruising. Some of her stage production clients include the City of Perth, Celebrate WA, Telethon 2004- 2018 (Artistic Director) Her commercial choreography includes Blue Steel, HBF, City of Perth, Telethon for the 7 Network as well as mini series Fast Tracks, Foreign Exchange and Shark Net .Marina's career highlight was winning "Producer of the Year ' for News Limited producing the National grand final entertainment for the N.R.L in Brisbane with 420 performers. Marina has worked with international artists such as Justice Crew, Olivia Newton John, Human Nature, Jon Stevens, Celine Dion, Sammy Davis Junior and many more . Marina continues her work with national and international contacts to keep informed on the latest changes in this ever evolving industry. In 2014 Marina fulfilled her lifelong dream of opening a tertiary education institution right here in WA. APAN Academy has had alumni students go on to working all over the world and has built its incredible reputation all over Australia.
In recent years Marina has been busy producing the series of Musicals in Concert, Telethon, COP Christmas productions, corporate events as well as full scale seasons of musical productions of High School Musical, Fame, Grease and recently Beauty and The Beast a 16 show season sell out all staged at the Regal theatre.
Marina also heads up Enter The Stage P.A. competition as well as MERAKI School Festival under the Australian Performing Arts United company which is a non for profit organisation promoting performing arts in WA.
Marina's life long commitment has been made to the arts and was recently awarded an Australian Citizen Award for her work within the industry and her immense body of works for charity organisations.
