APAN ACADEMY has a cohesive team of professional and creative personnel, lecturers & instructors, all of whom bring creativity, inspiration and a world of experience into the classroom. Each faculty member is a professional in their respective field of expertise, and dedicated to giving students the resources necessary to help them make the transition from 'student' to 'artist and performer'. This course is designed to provide preparatory training for students seeking to achieve a high level of competency in dance, with a view to pursuing a career in dance.
The Cert IV runs in three school terms of training with every term having an intensive period of interstate trainers and assessments. The last term is dedicated to a professional showcase of the student's work attracting agents and training institutions from all around Australia. APAN strives to be the states most diverse training facility in current dance trends and commercial focus.
This course includes a strong, all round training with a variety of local, interstate and international trainers, including group and private tutoring. Students will have the opportunity to train in current commercial trends and experience a wide field of performance and practical opportunities.
Dance Majors will have a strong all round focus paying particular attention to all styles of dancing.
Jazz , Classical Ballet, Musical Theatre, Dance Repertoire, Contemporary, Dance Performance, Hip-hop, Tap, Lyrical, Cultural and Choreography
Pilates, Core Dynamics, Safe Dance and OH&S, Basic Anatomy, Basic Physiology, Diet & Nutrition, Plan a career, Industry Knowledge, Stagecraft, Theatrical Make-up and more.
Ensemble Vocals,Solo Vocal Classes, (No prior experience required in this area)
Introduction to Acting and Improvisation
Please prepare one solo piece that meets the following criteria:
- Not to exceed 2 minutes in duration
Any genre is acceptable
Note: You are not expected to be an expert in all genres. This audition is to assess your ability to adapt, to listen, to commit and attempt various disciplines in Performing Arts. It is desired that the candidate shows a talent and ability in at least two genres. The audition panel will be looking for talent, potential and passion. Pieces will be assessed on both technique and performance. Questions regarding training and experience will be asked in the audition. Call backs will be conducted for candidates in a streaming purpose to assess abilities in all areas and their fit for the course.
