mARINA dEL baSSO- ceo

Marina has some 50 years of experience in the Arts and brings strong vision and talent to the entertainment industry. Marina studied in Jazz, Classical Ballet, Tap, Acrobats, Character, Highland and Irish styles at the Norma Atkinson School of Dance. Marina completed all examinations including the coveted MartinRubenstien Award and Blue Sash Award for performance under CSTD syllabus and Advanced Diploma in classical ballet under the R.A.D. Marina also studied at the world-renowned Joe Tremaine’s studios in Los Angeles working with leading choreographers from Film, TV, cabaret, and musicals. In 1985 Marina completed her full teaching diploma under the CSTD syllabus in genres of Tap, Classical Ballet, Acrobatics, and Jazz. Marina performed locally nationally and Internationally in corporate, showgirl and musical productions. ​For 26 years Marina Directed one of Perth’s leading performing arts schools. Producing performers at a national and international many of who are now working within the industry as lead roles and ensemble cast in musicals, cabaret shows and more. Marina has a varied production background in television live entertainment, corporate productions, sports and children’s entertainment, television mini-series, musical theatre productions, television commercials and producing entertainment for Cruise Companies Star Cruises International and AAC Cruising.  In recent years Marina has been busy producing the series of Musicals in Concert, Telethon, City of Perth's Christmas productions, corporate events as well as musical productions of High School Musical, Fame, Grease, Beauty and The Beast, Legally Blonde and Shrek. Marina also produces  Enter The Stage Performing Arts Challenge as well as MERAKI School Festival under the Australian Performing Arts United company which is a not for profit organization (charity)  promoting performing arts in WA. Marina’s lifelong commitment has been made to the arts and was recently awarded an Australian Citizen Award for her work within the industry and her immense body of works for charity organizations. 

hamish mcsporran- director

Hamish worked for over 25 years in various capacities in the Performing Arts Arena. the film and television industry. As a producer, first assistant Director and Director. He was contracted to all of the major commercial television stations in Australia and also internationally for MGM, Universal Pictures, Warner Bros and Paramount Pictures working with many high profile movie and television directors and stars.

Hamish was also the Managing Director of the WA Film and Television Academy. Responsible for training students for the entertainment industry and casting actors for high profile commercials. Hamish was a guest lecturer at Perth TAFE teaching students in the arts and media production. He has directed many prime time Television series and has directed over 50 television commercials. Hamish was also the Managing Director of one of Perth’s leading Event and Entertainment Companies and produced some of Perth’s highest acclaimed events. Hamish brings a wealth of show business experience, business acumen, marketing and performing arts know how to APAN. He is an integral part of APAN Academy's day to day running.

OLIVIA COLLIER- course coordinator

Olivia grew up performing under her mentors at the WA Academy of Dance and Drama studying all genres of dance, and focusing on her forte of Musical Theatre and Choreography. She gained a Diploma in Dance (Honours) with the Imperial Society and was trained as a triple threat performer under the late Tiffany Evans. Olivia specialized in many areas of the entertainment industry ranging from Screen, Stage and the corporate world; in performing, choreographing and directing. Some of Olivia’s highlights include being the Head choreographer for Meeralinga’s Children’s Week for several years, performing statewide with “Splice Girls”, being lead casting director for M and M Personal Management and choreographing and directing musicals such as Cats, Oklahoma, Chicago and many more.

Olivia was awarded the prestigious Western Australian Working with Children’s award for her work in the arts in 1998. More recently, Olivia has been one of Apan Academy’s resident directors and has directed High school Musical, Fame, Grease and recently Beauty and the Beast and Shrek Jnr.

Olivia's other love in the arts has is in training and education. She has held her Certificate IV in Training and Assessment for numerous years and planned, trained and conducted a plethora of unit planning training and assessments. Having mentored, owned and lectured for a variety of successful full time and part time institutions throughout her years, she is also skilled in the processes of accreditation, assessment and development of nationally accredited courses.
